Stew’s Barbershops was started in Aurora Illinois in 1983 by James “Stew” Stewart. Stew got his nick name from his high school friends and it stuck.
While still in high school, barbering was offered as a elective class, and always looking for a reason to get out of school he took it.
After graduating high school and barber school a few months later, Stew began his barbering career. After a few years of working for other people, he decided to strike out on his own. His main goal was to create a barbershop and an environment that a father and son would be proud to say they get their hair cut at.
Every Stew’s is different but the same in many respects. The Ladera shop has a surf theme reflecting its proximity to the ocean. The Wildomar shop has a country theme because it is horse country. The Temecula shops are loaded with movie, tv and sports memorabilia. They all have a train that runs around the shop and Police and Fire memorabilia and of course Star Wars is well represented.
We take pride in our shops and our haircuts. It is truly a fun and unique place that you will be proud to say “I go to Stew’s”.
